CCI REAGENT delivers a qualitative tyrosine screening result in three straightforward steps. No laboratory equipment. No special training. Under five minutes.
Collect a fresh first-morning midstream urine sample in a clean container free from detergent or soap residue. For 48 hours before testing, avoid high-protein foods, tyrosine supplements, and medications that may affect the result — these can cause misleading colour changes.
Cover the ampule with the protective cap and carefully break off its tip. Handle the ampule with care — it contains acid. Using the included pipette, draw urine and add 3 mL to the ampule, up to the mark. Perform the test immediately after opening the ampule.
After 3–5 minutes, compare the colour of the reaction mixture against the 8-shade reference scale included in the pack. Shades 1–3 are negative; shades 4–5 are positive with mildly elevated tyrosine; shades 6–8 are positive with significantly elevated tyrosine. Do not read the result after 10 minutes — the reaction degrades and the colour is no longer valid.
Important: Read the result 3 to 5 minutes after adding the urine sample, comparing against the 8-shade colour scale enclosed in the pack. After 10 minutes the mixture degrades and the colour no longer reflects a valid result. A green, dark green or milky colour is also positive and should be discussed with a physician.
